Greece Unfiltered
We loved:
Greek Yoghurt
Tzatziki
Pita Bread
Spinach & Feta pie
Olives
Fried tomato balls
The prices (for the most part)
The rooftop bar and pool in Athens
The Tavernas
Paradise Beach
Mykonos
Mykonos Hotel
Little Kook
The Plaka in Athens
The blue domed churches in Santorini
Being on tour (no driving, no planning)
Our travel group – met some lovely people and had plenty of laughs
The blue skies and blue sea
The Greek people (and apparently the feeling is mutual). The Greeks have missed the Aussies, whenever they heard where we’re from they’ve asked “How did you get here?” One restaurant owner in Santorini added that “There have been no Aussies this year. We miss them. They like to party” 🙂
Not so Much:
The ferry rides (a bit too long and disorganised chaos)
Santorini Beaches (not a fan of volcanic, black beaches)
The hotel in Santorini
The argy-bargy between Greece & Turkey
Above: Black volcanic beaches on Santorini.

I have a friend here in Sydney whose family have a house in Paros – this is what they mean by how much they’re missing Greece. Everything you listed… It looks amazing! Thank you for sharing your travels to Greece!
Next stop – green fields and sheep!

Such gorgeous pictures! We’ve only been to Athens on one of those mystery holidays back in our youth (many many moons ago!) and our hotel was right at the end of the runway – literally from our roof top we could see people faces in the plane windows !!! Really wish we had taken the time to go out to the islands. But my other overriding memory was not being able to find any white wine without resin in it (not a fan AT ALL) – Hope you fared better!! Good Luck with quarantine xx

Oh you two! I was scanning, scanning, scanning but simply could not find in the ‘not so much list’ any mention of ‘Aged Tackle’ so one just has to assume Sandy and Jarrah, that the experience has not left you scarred for life….or in fact that the site was gazed upon for too long. Which was probably very wise given that the Greeks can be pretty hot headed and green-eyed (from my experience) where plate smashing becomes real. This occurred in a Tavern where we were enjoying our dolmades & retsina until close by, one swarthy husband took a fancy to the buxom youthful waitress who’s fiancé happened to be the stage singer – we actually did dodge china plates soon after, with ceramic chips bouncing into our food n wine. Now had this happened on the beach, you may have come away scathed and dazed after wearing a cocktail or two. But, thank goodness you averted those eyeballs and remained safe. Romance is sure to be had in that region tho, amongst the olive oil & groves at 2am-ish…but who am I to question Jarrah? 🙊 Don’t forget that it’s the Greeks who started the Olympics….😜
