Switzerland Unfiltered
We Loved:
The stunning scenery
The crystal blue lakes and rivers
The Alps
Toblerone
Fondues
The Glaciers
The people – especially the manager at the hotel in Lauterbrunnen
They do a pretty good version of Biltong!
The free deck chairs on Lake Brienz
The free Montreux Card
Sundowners next to Lake Geneva
Helpful signs on how to use a toilet!
Trains (expensive ones up mountains) run on time – to the SECOND!
The music history of Montreux (esp Queen)
Lucerne
Lauterbrunnen
Waterfalls
Montreux
Plenty of eye-candy in Montreux

Not So Much:
The cost of everything
No air-conditioning
Breakfasts (when we had them) were pretty ordinary
The cost of everything
Paying for a highway “vignette” (toll pass) when I probably could have got away without paying. And having to pay for a year when I needed it for 10 days
Did I mention how expensive Switzerland is?
Wine not great
Switzerland is EXPENSIVE!!
Service in restaurants only marginally better than Germany

Why no pictures for us to see the eye-candy?

I just want to point out – I don’t know who informed you service would be good here. As far as I recall, service is pretty generally crap across the whole continent. It’s the wait-staff’s way of saying, “Please, stay, enjoy! Feel free to stay as long as you like! It’s no hurry!” (Translation: We aren’t looking in your direction if one of your party has caught fire.)
