The Lost Waterfalls
One of my favourite things about travelling is meeting new people from around the world, sharing our experiences, discussing our cultural differences, and asking any burning questions we may have about their country of origin.
Except when said people are entitled, passive-aggressive tourists who complain about everything, talk over the guide as he tries to tell us information, and block the best photo ops as they take 5,000+ selfies in front of as many waterfalls as possible. Throw in a very rocky, up-and-down hike, and you’ve got yourself a day trip!
I’m hugely exaggerating, of course – Mum and I agreed that this was probably our favourite hike so far; the track was challenging yet still fun, the sights were amazing, and the weather was pretty close to perfect. Plus, despite the questionable attitudes of some of our group members, we still had some nice chats, and the tour guide was definitely a nice guy too.
We had some Canadians with us who were brave (or stupid) enough to take a plunge in some of the freezing pools – we set them the challenge of staying in the water for 3 minutes, and they failed horribly, making a mad dash for the shoreline within seconds. That is, of course, until they started taking selfies again, and miraculously, it’s like they couldn’t feel the cold at all!

Woohoo – I’m all caught up and have thoroughly enjoyed the past half hour browsing through – its better than the telly with far more entertaining commentary. Can’t wait to see/hear about Costa Rica 🙂
