Stonehenge
I’ve been to Stonehenge twice before, so I wasn’t very concerned one way or another whether we went. It was a rather foggy, wet day (on our drive down to Cornwall), so we thought we’d go and see what the weather was like.
When we arrived it was bleak and foggy but the stones were visible, so we donned our wellies and set off. Of course, the minute we stepped off the shuttle bus that buses you to the stones from the visitor centre, the rain came down and the wind started howling.
Fortunately, we had (inadvertently) stolen an umbrella from our lovely friend Raech when we were in London, so we at least had a brolly each. However, amongst other things, the challenge was to take a pic of Jarrah in front of the stones, with me holding a brolly and a camera in the wind, and for Jarrah to try to stay semi-dry without blocking the stones … Crushed it! 🙂
Don’t worry Raech, that’s not your brolly – I had your brolly 🙂

Ha, these photos are wonderful! Brilliantly told story.
Stonehenge is on my list of “must visits”. So this post gives me a wonderful jolt of “make it happen”.

This made me laugh out loud as it is an almost exact replica of our visit to Stonehenge a few years back – tho we didnt battle with brollies, we just had to attempt to keep the hood of our rain jackets actually on our heads! Shame I can’t post a pic 🙂
But if you get chance on your back I would recommend a visit to Avebury to see their stones – Far less touristy and just as weirdly spectacular, on stretch looks just like the stones have been put there for an Alien spacescraft landing strip!. You can wander around them freely and there are (were?) some lovely tea rooms nearby.
Hope you get to visit Malmesbury too, where we used to live (remember I mentioned in the grounds of the Abbey there is a very well kept grave of the first girl in England to ever be mauled to death by a tiger!! – Right up your street 🙂 https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/hannah-twynnoy-s-gravestone
Hope the weather improves for you in Cornwall xx

Brilliant! Although Jarrah hats off to you for not tying your hair up!

The only thing missing from that photo progression was the wind finally being strong enough to topple her over the cordon. Don’t worry, though. My imagination took care of the rest. Also, it added Styx’s “Come Sail Away” as the soundtrack. Good times!

Jarrah, the bearded lady!

I’m more a Mr Roboto or Renegade girl myself, but I’ll take it :))
