Radda in Chianti & Monteriggioni

We arrived in Radda in Chianti, where I had booked us for four nights at a place with a pool shared with other townhouses in the complex. Was meant to be some “time out” to lie at the pool and relax. Yes, you heard it … may be hard to believe but travelling and sightseeing and blogging etc can get pretty full on (we need a holiday!!!) 🙂

Well, a relaxing break it was not to be … first of all the pool was full of revolting children, plus one of the portable air-conditioning units in the Airbnb was not working and the other one (in my room) was drawing the stench of rotting drains from outside and turning it into semi-cold stench in my bedroom.
Long story short … we managed to escape after two nights and moved onto alternative accommodation in San Gimignano.

Had some good food in Radda though … and of course, Tuscany is just beautiful, and the scenery in Radda was quintessentially Tuscan. Rolling hills dotted with Tuscan Cypress and Umbrella Pine Trees, olive groves, vineyards and wineries galore with the stone coloured homes blending into the landscape.

On our way to San Gimignano, we stopped in at Monteriggioni for lunch – very tiny walled town up on a hill (still in the Chianti region).

Views from the medieval walls.

Daily Giggle

For Jarrah anyway … pissing herself laughing, watching me trying to do a 500 point turn in what turned out to be the narrowest point of a road at the Airbnb. Literally moving a millimetre with each move.

MM WAS NOT AMUSED
