Route 66 – Arizona
Our first, albeit short, trip along Route 66 - hope to travel on it more in Texas. Some interesting places along this little stretch.

Mojave Desert
Drove from Vegas to Mojave Desert, passing many Joshua Trees (a first for us) and after a couple of hours of a jarring, jolting ride down dirt “roads” that scrambled our brains and re-arranged our internal organs, we eventually arrived at our spot for the night. No hook ups (electricity & water) but a very beautiful spot to spend a couple of days.

Viva Las Vegas
Retracing our steps through Sin City, the City That Never Sleeps, the Marriage Capital of the World, the City of Second Chances, or as it is more commonly known - Las Vegas - was, to put it simply, an interesting experience, though perhaps not AS interesting as I anticipated it to be.

Elephant Seal Rookery
Towards the end of Highway 1 we came across Piedras Blancas Northern Elephant Seal Rockery. The rookery is 4 miles north of Hearst Castle on California Highway.
