Arriving in Boquete

After an hour’s drive from David – the city in which we landed – we arrived in the mountainous town of Boquete, and first impressions (in my opinion at least) were very good. The scenery is noticeably more lush than both Santiago and Panama City, and the sound of the nearby stream constantly rushing really adds to the serenity of the place we’re staying. What wasn’t quite so serene was figuring out ways to waste 5 hours while we waited to check in at 3:00pm, which entailed walking around town, strolling, perhaps a touch of meandering, getting our steps up, moving our legs in a manner which propelled us forwards, making the same repetitive motion with our digits to advance along the streets, all topped off by a good old frolic. Following this, we sat by the stream at the hotel itself for a little while, went grocery shopping (where the hell are the damn cheese and crackers??), before finally…finally checking in. So, not a bad day.

Some photos from our 5-hour trek through town (it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!):

A couple videos of aforementioned streams:

This …. (table centre pieces at hotel next to our airbnb) – novel but not entirely sold on the idea …. yes, that’s a lettuce in a vase
